Golden Nugget Online Gaming Launches IGT Games in Michigan

Golden Nugget is expanding its online casino in Michigan.

The popular casino brand has announced its plans to increase its number of games in Michigan with the launch of International Game Technology’s (IGT) slot and table games.

IGT is a four-time recipient of the Operator of the Year award and was named the 2024 Mobile Operator of the Year. With Golden Nugget in Michigan, IGT is adding more than 50 games to its portfolio, including well-known games such as Cleopatra and Wheel of Fortune Megaways.

"We continue to grow our portfolio of content in Michigan, we are excited to expand our games repertoire by launching IGT games in the state,” Warren Seven, vice president of Golden Nugget Online Gaming, said in a news release. “This will broaden our content offering with IGT's innovative features and instantly recognizable games available to our online patrons."

Golden Nugget Michigan gained access through an agreement with the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community, operator of Ojibwa Casinos. The partnership was announced in July 2023.

“Golden Nugget Online Gaming is thrilled to partner with the Ojibwa Casino to provide casino players in Michigan with a premium online casino and sportsbook experience,” Golden Nugget Online Gaming president Thomas Winter said in the news release announcing the deal. “Players in Michigan will be able to appreciate our award-winning product offering and exceptional customer service from a nationally recognized and trusted brand.”

The Keweenaw Bay Indian Community operates two land-based casinos in Michigan — both in the Upper Peninsula — in Marquette and Baraga.

Golden Nugget was one of the first operators to go live in Michigan when it launched its online casino and mobile sports betting platform on Jan. 22. So far, Golden Nugget has taken in $10 million in gross receipts from its internet casino and recorded a sports betting handle of $2.3 million. Out of Michigan’s 12 operators, Golden Nugget has the second-lowest sports betting handle, while its online casino gross receipts ranks eighth out of 12.
