As online sportsbooks prepare for Michigan’s pending mobile launch, many are now offering exclusive early sign-up deals.

BetRivers Michigan is currently running a promotion offering a $50 free registration bonus. New players can click here to sign up and redeem the free play.

The free credit can be used on sports betting, online casino games and video poker.

BetRivers has access to the Michigan market thanks to its partnership with the Little River Band of the Ottawa Indians. The tribe operates the Little River Casino and Resort in Manistee, Mich.

When users sign up to redeem the offer, they will be asked to fill out a form, including their:

  • Date of birth
  • Email
  • Last four digits of Social Security number
  • Name
  • Mailing address

Once you are verified, your account will be credited the $50 free play.

Michigan online launch moving along

The Michigan Gaming Control Board is currently going through the licensing and approval process for the prospective platform providers and operators who wish to launch in the state.

Each platform provider is required to meet the MGCB’s regulatory requirements before online gaming and mobile sports betting can launch in Michigan. The MGCB is approving provisional licenses and recently issued 15 licenses:

  • American Wagering, Inc. d/b/a William Hill Sports Book
  • Betfair Interactive US LLC d/b/a FanDuel Sportsbook
  • BetMGM, LLC d/b/a Roar Digital
  • Churchill Downs Interactive Gaming, LLC d/b/a TwinSpires
  • Crown MI Gaming LLC d/b/a DraftKings
  • GAN Nevada Inc.
  • Golden Nugget Online Gaming, Inc.
  • NYX Digital Gaming (USA), LLC
  • Parx Interactive Inc.
  • Penn Sports Interactive, LLC
  • PointsBet Michigan LLC
  • Rush Street Interactive MI, LLC
  • Sports Information Services Limited d/b/a Kambi
  • TSG Interactive US Services Limited d/b/a Fox Bet
  • WSI US, LLC d/b/a Wynn Sports

The latest timeline from the MGCB hints at an early 2024 launch (about mid-January) for online casino gaming and mobile sports betting in Michigan. The licensing process can take anywhere between four to six weeks.

Each of the platform providers must complete additional regulatory requirements before the statewide mobile gaming launch can happen. These requirements include the independent testing of games and platforms, and the MGCB’s approval of each platform’s internal controls to make sure the gaming integrity is kept intact.

“The platform providers’ ability to meet the requirements of the laws and rules will determine which entities can be licensed for launch first,” said Richard S. Kalm, MGCB executive director.
