After a heartbreaking loss on a once-in-a-blue-moon, record-breaking field goal, the Detroit Lions (0-3) hit the road and look to regroup against NFC Central Division rival Chicago Bears (1-2) on Sunday.
Michigan sportsbooks have the Bears as a home favorite at -3 on DraftKings MI, Caesars MI, BetMGM MI and Borgata Sportsbook. Chicago is a -145 moneyline favorite at DraftKings and Caesars and a -150 favorite at BetMGM. It’s a 1 p.m. kickoff on FOX.

A Comeback, Then Heartbreak
After a scoreless first half last Sunday, the Lions used a 17-point second half to take the lead against the Baltimore Ravens only to be overshadowed by Justin Tucker. He hit a league-record 66-yard field goal (which bounced on the crossbar then over it) with no time remaining. It gave the Baltimore Ravens a 19-17 road victory.
Last-minute heroics are nothing new for Tucker. He has hit 16-of-16 field goal attempts in the final minute of regulation in his career, the most without a miss in the final minute since at least 1983.
Lions quarterback Jared Goff completed 22-of-30 passes for 217 yards, but had no TDs and running back D’Andre Swift accumulated 107 total yards — 14 carries and 47 yards on the ground and seven catches for 60 yards.
Who Starts at QB for Bears?
Last Sunday, the Bears decided to start rookie quarterback Justin Fields, their No. 1 draft pick from Ohio State, because of an injury to starter Andy Dalton. The Cleveland Browns took full advantage of the inexperienced Fields.
He completed just 6-of-20 for 68 yards, ran three times for 12 yards and was sacked nine times as the Browns won 26-6 at home. The 68 yards were the fewest by a player making his first career start since Nathan Peterman (66 yards) in week 11 of the 2017 season.
The Browns’ nine sacks in the first career start of a quarterback were the most since Greg McElroy was sacked 11 times in his only career start in 2012.
Against Cleveland, Chicago had just 47 total yards (second fewest in a game in team history) on 42 offensive plays.
And the Winner Is …
Prediction: The Lions have played strong halves in their losses at the Green Bay Packers (they had a 17-14 halftime lead), and against the Ravens. Now they need to put together two halves in one game.
You get the sense Detroit is building a high-powered offense with Goff and his young running back, Swift, and that the hard work could pay off with the Lions’ first win.
Chicago has too many questions on and off the field. And if you’re considering three quarterbacks, that means you don’t have one. The Lions are getting points and are in a better position heading into the game. Lions 27, Bears 17.
