Thank you again and come celebrate all week long.”

Greektown’s year-to-date total revenue was down 27.2% to $19.6 million compared to 2019, while MGM Grand Detroit fell 22.3% to $36.1 million and MotorCity decreased 27.2% to $19.6 million.
Barstool sportsbook coming to Greektown
Greektown is preparing to unveil its new Barstool Sportsbook in the coming weeks. On Oct. 1, the Greektown Twitter account announced its sportsbook would be rebranded by the popular online sports and culture website. The announcement was met with excitement with over 500 retweets and 2,500 likes on the post. Typically, Greektown’s account sees limited traction for its posts, which highlights how much anticipation there is for a Barstool sportsbook in Michigan.
“I think it makes our sportsbook really unique and differentiates us from our competition,” Hugh Flack, Greektown vice president of gaming operations, said about Barstool. “The Barstool brand is extremely exciting, and they have a very loyal following that’s growing by the minute. The big thing about their brand is that they want their followers to win and succeed. They’re great advocates for that brand.”
For October, Greektown was third in retail sports betting qualified adjusted gross receipts with $3 million, behind MGM Grand at $6.8 million and MotorCity with $4.3 million.
But given the excitement around Greektown’s Barstool announcement, the casino could potentially earn a bigger share of Detroit’s sports betting market.
