Gun Lake is the latest to join Michigan’s online sports betting market.

On Monday morning, the Gun Lake Band of Pottawatomi Indians of Michigan and its platform provider, Parx Interactive, became the 14th mobile sports betting platform to launch. The MI sports betting launch comes following the Play Gun Lake MI online casino debut in April.

"With Gun Lake Casino now fully authorized, 14 current Michigan operators and their platform providers may offer both internet casino gaming and online sports betting to patrons," said Henry Williams, MGCB executive director. "The associated revenue payments will support responsible gaming, the First Responder Presumed Coverage Fund, K-12 education and economic development."

Michiganders may be unfamiliar with Parx compared to other platform providers that went live in the state. Parx is a casino brand operating in Pennsylvania where it has the largest gaming facility in the state.

Parx has a mobile sportsbook in Pennsylvania where it holds one of the smaller market shares in the state. For June, Parx reported 3.8% of the $420 million overall sports betting handle for the month, good for the sixth-highest share of the operators in the state.

In anticipation of its online sportsbook launch, Parx has attempted to push out its brand at Pistons games for MI NBA betting. Parx signage was present inside Little Caesars Arena this past season, giving sports fans an introduction to the Pennsylvania-based entertainment company.

Similar to Parx’s online sportsbook in Pennsylvania, the Gun Lake online casino has yet to garner a large share of the market in Michigan.

In June, Gun Lake reported the 11th-highest online casino gross receipts at $585,199. It pales in comparison to the big three of BetMGM Casino ($33.7 million), DraftKings Casino ($15.5 million) and FanDuel ($14.8 million), which have dominated the mobile sports betting and online casino market since they went live on Jan. 22.

Gun Lake can take solace in it has seen slight increases in gross receipts each month. In April, it debuted with $180,091 before reporting $506,450 gross receipts in May. The May to June increase made Gun Lake just one of three operators to report increases in online casino gross receipts, with Golden Nugget and Pala Interactive the only others to see higher revenues from May to June.

Gun Lake and Parx have paid $183,130 in internet gaming taxes to the state.
