Michigan Gaming Control Board Authorizes Live Dealer Casino Games

Live dealer casino games are coming to Michigan.

The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) on Wednesday authorized Evolution to live stream MI online casino table games with live dealers from a Southfield studio. Live/online table games will be eligible to launch for the first time through licensed operators and platform providers starting at 10 a.m. on Thursday.

“Players can use a mobile device or computer to play typical land-based casino games like blackjack, baccarat and roulette with a real-time, live dealer,” Henry Williams, MGCB executive director, said in a news release. “Cameras capture the dealer and the play, and the providers’ apps or websites share it live with remote players.”

Evolution is the first entity authorized for online casino live dealer games in Michigan. The live dealer games will become available as individual and platform providers offer them.

Other operators and platform providers who will offer their own live dealer studio games include BetMGM Casino, DraftKings Casino, FanDuel, Golden Nugget Online Casino, Penn Interactive/Barstool, Rush Street, the Stars Group, TwinSpires Casino/BetAmerica, William Hill and Wynn. Those providers have yet to announce when their live dealer games will launch.

Evolution was approved after it met the MGCB’s internet gaming regulatory requirements. MGCB staff did an onsite review of Evolution Games.

Evolution has yet to formally announce what live casino games it will offer in Michigan, but a look at its website gives an idea about what may be coming. Live versions of roulette, blackjack, baccarat and poker.

Each of those table games have different versions for players looking for a specific game. In addition to the traditional MI online blackjack, Evolution features speed blackjack, infinite blackjack, free bet blackjack and power blackjack.

There are numerous MI roulette games, including immersive roulette, American roulette, French roulette, European roulette, speed roulette and more.

On the baccarat side, there is lightning baccarat, no commission baccarat, speed baccarat and other versions.

MI online poker from Evolution includes casino hold’em, two-hand casino hold’em, ultimate Texas hold 'em, three-card poker and stud poker.

Michigan residents can expect some form of these games to go live on Thursday.
