After a year where the event was delayed until November due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Masters is back on the schedule in its regular slot.

Last year, Dustin Johnson won the event going away, recording a final score of 20-under par for a five-stroke victory. Johnson enters this year’s Masters as the pre-tourney favorite at +950 on DraftKings. Bryson DeChambeau (+1050), Justin Thomas (+1100), Jon Rahm (+1200) and Jordan Spieth (+1200) round out the top five.

This will be the first Masters where residents in Michigan can wager online. The state officially launched its mobile sports betting and online casino gaming platforms on Jan. 22.

Numerous sportsbooks are running promotions and deals for players across the state. Here are some of them.

Promotions

DraftKings is letting new users cash in if Johnson can have another strong performance this year. Bettors can win $100 on a $1 wager if Johnson finishes in the top 10.

Players can also opt-in to a promotion to get any golfer to finish in the top 10 boosted to 100-1. The DeChambeau and Johnson head-to-head matchup is also boosted to +150 for players looking to wager on that specific matchup.

FanDuel players can cash in if Johnson, Rory McIlroy or Jordan Spieth just make the cut. Each of the player’s odds to make the cut is boosted to +2000. Players can wager $5 and win $100.

BetMGM will give bettors $100 on a $1 wager if Spieth makes one birdie during the tournament.

BetRivers is allowing users to bet $10 and win $100 if the golfer they choose to bet on can break 100.

DraftKings Survey

DraftKings recently surveyed 1,000 people across 25 states to gauge their interest in the Masters. According to the poll, 91% of respondents believe fan engagement with golf has increased in recent years, while 48% expect Tigers Woods to have the greatest impact on golf over the next 10 years. Dustin Johnson (19%) and DeChambeau (9%) were the other top vote-getters for future impact.

When it comes to wagering on the Masters, 24% said they are likely to wager on the tournament, while 22% said they are unlikely to bet on the event and 54% remained unsure if they will bet on it or are legally able to.
