Heading into Saturday night’s nationally televised contest on ABC, Washington and Michigan appear to be going in opposite directions at first glance.

PointsBet MI currently has the Wolverines as 7-point favorites in Michigan sports betting. The Wolverines are taking 83% of the bets and 90% of the cash. The game total is at 48.5 points with the over taking 56% of the bets, while the under is taking 67% of the handle.

DraftKings MI and Caesars MI also have Michigan at -7 with Michigan as -275 on the money line. Tipico Sportsbook is offering the Wolverines at -6.5 for Michigan gaming enthusiasts.

Bad Loss for Washington

Washington (0-1) is coming off a home loss to FCS power Montana, 13-7, last Saturday as the Grizzlies scored 10 unanswered points to secure its first win over Washington since 1920.

Hitting the road could be a major wake-up call in a must-win situation. The Huskies defense allowed just 232 total yards and its defense gave up 13 points.

Washington’s redshirt-freshman quarterback Dylan Morris completed 27-of-46 passes for 226 yards, one first-quarter TD and three interceptions. His play must improve in order for the Huskies to be successful.

On the other side of the ball, Michigan football (1-0) is coming off an impressive 47-17 in-state victory over Western Michigan at the Big House.

Michigan Finds QB?

The Wolverines might have found their quarterback in junior Cade McNamara, but in the win, lost its top wide receiver senior Ronnie Bell for the season due to a knee injury.

McNamara completed 9-of-11 passes for 136 yards and two scores, highlighted by a 76-yard strike to Bell, for his only catch of the day. Bell suffered the injury after returning a punt 31 yards in the second quarter.

Sophomore running back Blake Corum carried the load for the Wolverines with 14 carries for 111 yards and a score.

Prediction: This will be a back-and-forth affair as both defenses will continue to step up. Will the offenses do the same, especially in the Huskies’ case? They will, but it won’t be enough. McNamara in the Big House equals a 2-0 start.
