PokerStars is raising the prize pool in preparation for its Michigan Spring Championship of Online Poker (MISCOOP).

The PokerStars MISCOOP will now feature $2 million in guaranteed prize pools across more than 120 events spanning from May 8 through May 24. The online poker series will include a wide range of tournaments and buy-in levels, according to a news release, That gives all players a chance to be crowned the champion of the series.

The Michigan tournament is being run in conjuction with the New Jersey Spring Championship of Online Poker (NJSCOOP). The Pennsylvania Spring Championship of Online Poker (PASCOOP) is live now and it exceeded its original $280,000 total guaranteed prize pools for its first weekend and awarded $350,000 in prizes, according to a news release. The championship wraps up May 3, right before the New Jersey and Michigan events begin.

The MISCOOP is highlighted by a two-day main event. The tournament will feature a $300 buy-in starting on May 23 and will include a $200,000 guaranteed prize pool.

There will also be $15,000 worth of Main Event tickets available for the MISCOOP. To win a freeroll ticket, players must deposit $30 or more using the bonus code “MISCOOP” prior to May 23.

Second-chance freerolls will also be an option for players who are knocked out of a MISCOOP event before reaching the money. With a second-chance freeroll, players will receive entry to the next day’s Second Chance Freeroll Tournament, where up to $1,000 in tickets will be given away daily.

Main Event tickets can also be won in special $3 Spin & Gos, which will run from 10 tonight to 5 p.m. on May 23.

The MISCOOP leaderboard will also allow players to earn points in MISCOOP events for finishing in the top 30. The better the finishing place, the more points a player will receive. After the series, the top 15 performers will split $10,000 in cash.

Second Major PokerStars Series in Michigan

The MISCOOP will be the second series from PokerStars in Michigan. During March 6-7, PokerStars held the Michigan Championship of Online Poker (MICOOP). It was the first poker series in Michigan since the state launched its mobile sports betting and online casino platforms.

The event ended up doubling its original $1 million guarantee in prizes because of the number of Michigan players signing up and taking part in the event. In the end, PokerStars crowned a Main Event champion and handed out $2,208,327 in prize money.

Of the 60 MICOOP events, 56 exceeded the prize guarantee with numerous six-figure prize pools in several tournaments in the series.

The Main Event had a $300 buy-in and drew 1,284 players who competed for an online prize pool of $359,520.

“Throughout the series, we were blown away by the overwhelming support from the poker community in Michigan,” said PokerStars Associate Director of Consumer Engagement and Public Relations Rebecca McAdam Willetts. “We are very encouraged by the success of our inaugural MICOOP and look forward to hosting future poker events for Michigan players.”

Now, PokerStars will look to continue its success in online series with the MISCOOP.
