After a successful spring series in Michigan, PokerStars will host a summer online poker tournament series that will run in Michigan and two other states.

The PokerStars’ summer event in Michigan, New Jersey and Pennsylvania is called the Summer Stacks Festival. It should appeal to more casual players with relatively modest buy-ins. Yet, each state series will culminate with a Main Event that offers the attraction of a big payday.

It will run as independent tourney series in each state and be held June 12-28. The Summer Stacks comes on the heels of PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) that also ran in those three states.

The summer event in Michigan will give recreational online poker players a variety of opportunities because of low buy-ins and convenient formats. There will be 100 events featuring buy-ins of $100 or less and the series will also feature shorter events, such as turbos. In addition, there will be chances to participate for free.

The total guaranteed prize pool in Michigan for the summer series will be $1 million.

Michigan Main Events

The Summer Stacks Festival in Michigan has a two-day Main Event tournament with a $100 buy-in. It will start on June 27. The Main Event guaranteed prize pool for Michigan will be $100,000.

There will also be a PokerStars giveaway of $10,000 worth of Main Event tickets in a daily Depositor Freeroll. To receive a freeroll ticket, players must deposit $30 with bonus code SUMMER21. And if a player gets knocked out of any Summer Stacks tournament before reaching the money, they can get back into the action through daily Second Chance Freerolls, where a total of $10,000 worth of Summer Stacks tournament tickets will be awarded.

MISCOOP a Big Success

In Michigan, the spring series had more than 40,000 entries and about $2.36 million in prizes paid out across 120 tournaments. The original prize pool had been $2.2 million guaranteed.

The Main Event of the series in Michigan had 871 entries and a total prize pool of $243,880. "Stozypokes" was victorious in the Main Event, earning $41,074.16. Stozypokes also won a MISCOOP Sunday Marathon event for $2,650.

"Healybuck2021" earned a spot in the MISCOOP Main Event from a depositor freeroll before finishing third in the Main Event and earning a total prize of $20,965.

"Dublistic" was one of the top winners for the series, earning four MISCOOP titles.
