Another indicative factor for the chances of winning the first major golf championship of the year is the Masters betting odds movement all the way from last April until March 2022. Best Bonus Bets will show you how favorites’ lines moved in this long period to help you find better value.

Remember to shop around as many sportsbooks as possible in order to secure the best Masters bets for maximum Return on Investment.

This way we want to save you precious time and effort, serving you the maximum value on a plate. As you’ll see for yourselves, Jon Rahm has become the favorite to win the US Masters, but golfers like Collin Morikawa are gaining ground up the board.

* Odds were last updated on April 7, 2022.

Masters Odds Changes from Last April Onwards

Jon Rahm climbed from 2nd to 1st place in the past year since last April, while the favorite back then Dustin Johnson has dropped down to 6th. Bryson DeChambeau’s stocks have also fallen, but those of Collin Morikawa, Cameron Smith, Scottie Scheffler, and Viktor Hovland are firmly on the rise, so you may have missed the boat in these four cases in terms of the most advantageous Masters odds.

Favorites, Contenders, and Long Shots According to Their Masters Betting Odds

Like in every major sporting event, there are main favorites, prime contenders and long shots that are aiming for the glory of winning. We’ll present a few chosen ones from each category and in the end we will give you the Masters picks of our expert team. They are based on their knowledge and experience in golf betting combined with their own models and algorithms relying on advanced stats. Of course, there can only be one winner and it’s up to you to make a decision as, after all, it’s your money at stake. So let’s start with our 2022 Masters predictions.

The Favorites

Jon Rahm (+750): He’s been the best player in the world over the last year without any shadow of a doubt, but has yet to fully make his mark in Augusta. Plus, his Masters odds are moving shorter and shorter, so it’s hard to see the value here.

Collin Morikawa (+1200): With two majors won from eight, this great striker of the ball is always amongst the favorites at any course. His odds are shortening too, so don’t forget that when searching for bigger profits.

Jordan Spieth (+1200): The 2015 champion is almost always in the Top 3 at Augusta and last year proved he’s back at his best. You can never write him off in the US Masters.

Justin Thomas (+1200): His creativity in ball striking is a recipe for success at Augusta even though he’s never been much close to winning here. Who’s to say that this year won’t be his year…

Rory McIlroy (+1400): The US Masters is the last piece of the jigsaw for this fabulous golfer in search of his career Grand Slam, so the pressure will once again be high for him. The four-time major champion has been in the top 10 in six of his last eight starts at Augusta, but has finished 21st or worse in two of his last three starts here, including a missed cut in 2021. It won’t be a surprise to see him finish outside the Top 10 in 2022 and his appealing Masters odds shouldn’t deceive you.

Dustin Johnson (+1600): It’s not a big surprise that his stocks are crumbling after his disappointing performances in the past year. The 2020 winner had four Top 10 finishes before his surprising missed cut in 2021 and, with his odds at this quote, Johnson should be present in many expert Masters picks for the 2022 winner.

The Contenders

Brooks Koepka (+1800): If you’re looking for big value, this is your bet! The US Masters may be one of the two majors he’s yet to win and he missed the cut in 2021, but it was because of a knee injury and he finished 2nd to Tiger Woods in 2019 and 7th in 2018. Plus, after the missed cut at Augusta National, he finished 6th or better at the three other majors. Don’t overlook the fact that Koepka this season is among the Top 20 golfers for driving distance and his range off the tee box makes him an intriguing option for all Masters picks outside the favorites.

Hideki Matsuyama (+2800): The 2021 Masters win was the first major for the Japanese who’s always played well here. Even though he’s a poor putter, this tricky green course seems to hide his deficiencies. Still, it’s not that probable to expect the lightning to strike twice and Matsuyama winning two years in a row.

The Longshots

Tiger Woods (+4000): Though it’s not that likely that he plays (but what if he does ), Woods is always worth a punt, even more so considering that bets will be refunded by many sportsbooks if he doesn’t take part in the tournament.

Adam Scott (+6600): The 2013 US Masters champion hasn’t missed a cut since but has just one Top 10 in that period. Scott should never be underestimated.

Sergio Garcia (+6600): His first and only major win was at the US Masters, so this is a favorite tournament for him.

Phil Mickelson (+10 000): The 2004, 2006 and 2010 winner has just one Top 20 finish in his last five tries. His huge reputation and his PGA Championship win last year mean that there’s not that much of a value in his Masters odds.

Best Bonus Bets’s 2026 Masters Predictions

When looking at different advanced stats and using our tested golf betting algorithms, our expert team came up with one suggestion during their research for their Masters picks. This one name combines the highest winning probability and the best odds value: Brooks Koepka.

According to our statisticians and pundits, the American is ready to make the final step and win at Augusta for the first time in his career. As you’ve probably seen in our table with the best current odds for participants, his best quote is at +2000 with FanDuel Sportsbook according to our latest updates, so jump right in and place a wager. As far as expert Masters picks are concerned, there isn’t much more anyone could ask for.

Masters Betting Odds and Markets

There are millions and millions of golf fans around the world and many of them like to bet on the outcome of the US Masters tournament. Sportsbooks all over the planet are keen to accommodate this widespread interest. They do so by offering a variety of Masters odds on a vast array of betting markets.

In this section of our guide we take a look at each of the most popular betting markets in turn. We explain what they require from you as the bettor and why you might want to get involved in them.

Masters Betting Lines for Winner

The most popular Masters odds for a particular betting market are the ones showing the predicted outright winner. All you have to do here is select the player that you think has the best chance of winning. You then wager on that golfer to succeed. If he wins the tournament, your bet also wins. This market has both pros and cons.

On the positive side, a bet on the overall winner potentially gives you four days of excitement as you watch your chosen player compete to reach the top of the US Masters leaderboard 2022 and stay there. And because he must beat plenty of others to succeed, the odds available for the outright winner could be fairly generous, especially if you side with someone who isn’t the clear favorite.

On the more negative side of the equation, a bet on the winner could be over in a couple of days if your selection fails to make the cut. That would leave you to watch the last two days of the tournament without anyone to root for. Unless, of course, you were to place another wager on one of the remaining players.

Because a bet on the winner could potentially be lost before the tournament ends, many punters consider the best Masters bets to be those on several different golfers. This increases the chances of at least one wager continuing to run for the duration of the event. The generous Masters odds mean that it’s often possible to make an overall profit no matter which one of them wins.

Masters Golf Odds on First Round Leader

As we have seen, the Winner market asks you to predict the winner of the whole tournament. The First Round Leader market is a little different. It only asks you to predict which player will be at the top of the US Masters leaderboard after the first round has been played.

This is an easier task, but it still isn’t a walk in the park. With 90 players anticipated to take part in 2022, a bet on one would give you 89 possible ways to lose. Of course, not every golfer competing will have an equal chance of winning. Your likelihood of success could therefore be much better than that. It all depends on how good you are at assessing golfing form. And how well your selection plays up to his past form in the event itself.

Again, you can increase your chances of winning in this market by wagering on several selections. The number that you could profitably bet on will depend on the odds you can get for them. If the shortest priced selection is available at odds of +800, for example, you could wager on as many as seven others and still show an overall profit even if the shortest priced selection wins.

Masters Bets on Top 5/10/20/40 Finish

For those who want to have a decent chance of making a winning bet, but don’t want to wager on several different players in the Winner or First Round Leader markets, there are plenty of Top X betting markets to take a look at. These require you to select a golfer who you think will achieve a Top 5 Finish, a Top 10 Finish, a Top 20 Finish or even a Top 40 Finish, and wait to see whether he manages to finish the tournament in the respective position.

The odds offered about players in these markets will be less generous than those in the Winner and First Round Leader markets. That's because a player has a much better chance of achieving a Top 5/10/20/40 position than winning the tournament outright. For example, assuming all players have equal ability (simply for purposes of illustration), a player in the US Masters 2022 has a:

  • 5 in 90 (5.55%) chance of getting a Top 5 finish.
  • 10 in 90 (11.11%) chance of getting a Top 10 finish.
  • 20 in 90 (22.22%) chance of getting a Top 20 finish.
  • 40 in 90 (44.44%) chance of getting a Top 40 finish.

Just compare this with a 1 in 90 (1.11%) chance of winning outright.

Of course, these markets also make it possible to bet on several players and have several winners. You could potentially wager on five golfers in a Top 5 Finish market and have all of your bets win if all of your selections occupy a top five position on the US Masters leaderboard 2022.

Masters Bets on Two- and Three-Ball Markets

Golfers will usually head out onto the course in small groups of two or three, and many sportsbooks allow you to bet on which player will perform best in a given group. A betting market involving two golfers is known as a Two-Ball and a betting market with three golfers is known as a Three-Ball. Your aim in these markets is simply to predict which of those two or three players will have the best round. If your prediction is correct, your wager wins, otherwise it loses.

The good thing about these markets is that they are totally separate to the main event as far as your bet is concerned. You could therefore wager on a player to win a Two- or Three-Ball matchup and have it win even if none of those selected golfers do particularly well in the tournament as a whole.

Masters Prop Bets

One could say that this mega event is the Super Bowl of the golfing world, which means that with it comes a stream of Masters prop bets. You can wager on many different props like the following examples:

  • Will There Be a Hole-in-One?

YES / -175

NO / +135

  • Will There Be A Playoff?

YES / -3300

NO / +1200

  • Will There Be A Double Eagle?

YES / +1200

NO / -5000

  • What Will Be The Lowest 18-Hole Score?

OVER 65.5 strokes / +150

UNDER 65.5 strokes / -1800

  • Top American/European/Asian/Australian/Canadian/British and Irish, etc.
  • Top Leftie/Senior, etc.
  • Tournament Matchups (between two players)
  • Cut Line Props
  • Course Record Props
  • Winning Score Props
  • Fun Masters prop bets (most strokes on a single hole, longest drive, balls in the water on Hole 12, etc.)

Feel Free to mix and Match

Many people who know how to do Masters betting like to place a selection of different wagers in separate markets. This is instead of putting all of their eggs into one basket, and can be well worth considering. For example, imagine that you believe a certain golfer has a great chance of winning the tournament outright. You could bet on any Two- or Three-Ball market that he is named in, as well as on the same player achieving a Top 10 Finish. This could help you to make an overall profit even if he doesn’t win the tournament itself. And if he does triumph in the end, your other wagers could also have won in the process.

Tips for US Masters Winning Bets

In terms of betting odds Masters is always presenting opportunities to make some nice profits. The key to success in wagering on this tournament, as when doing so on other major sporting events, is the ability to pick winners. Whether you want to bet on the outright winner, or on a player to finish in the Top 5, or to beat his opponents in a Two- or Three-Ball matchup, you need to know who to side with.

Unfortunately, there is no magic secret to making successful Masters picks. All you can do is look at how golfers have performed in the past and then, on that basis, try to predict which one has the best chance in the coming event.

The sportsbooks have already done much of this already, and you can quickly see whom they view as having the best possibilities by looking at the players assigned with the shortest odds. However, if you also want to do a little form study of your own, here are some of the main form aspects that you should be considering and comparing.

Current Ranking

The current ranking of a golfer is as good a reflection of their ability as any other. A player who is ranked in the Top 10 has a much better shot at winning a major like the US Masters than one who is only just hanging on to a more lowly position in the Top 50.

Average Course Performance

When betting on the Masters, look at how players have performed over the same course in earlier tournaments. Whilst they might fare better this time around than they have previously, their average course performance is probably as good a guide as you’ll get before the tee off.

Current Fitness

A golfer who is having any kind of fitness issues is always less present in expert Masters picks than one who is healthy. Check to see if your preferred player is fit and that he isn’t being niggled by any kind of injury. Always follow the most reliable sources of information in order to not be fooled by speculation or fake news.

Motivation

Psychology plays a big part in golf, and a player who is hungry and keen to win is a far better bet with much more attractive Masters odds than one who might just be turning up for old time’s sake. A previous champion is always worth careful consideration, as is any golfer who only needs a US Masters win to complete his collection of major titles.

US Masters General Info

Now that you know so much more about US Masters odds and how to bet on them, here’s some general information to have a full grasp of this major tournament.

/top

The Masters is one of the biggest professional golf events in the world. It was first played in 1934 and takes place every April at the Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia. Therefore, it’s the first of four major golf championships that take place each year. The other three are the PGA Championship in May, the US Open in June and the Open Championship in July. In 2022 the exact dates are 7-10 April and the prize money for US Masters this year is $11.5 million with $2,070,000 going in the champion’s bank account.

This is an invitational golf tournament. Most of its players receive automatic invitations according to their previous and current standings. The top 50 players in the world all receive an invite, as do the US Open champions of the last five years, the PGA champions of the last five years, the British Open champions of the last five years, and so on. The total number of players competing in 2022 is 90, and the eventual winner will receive the traditional green jacket. Not to mention his hefty share of a prize fund.

The tournament itself comprises four rounds of 18 holes, with each round being played on consecutive days. Players who manage to earn a Top 50 place on the leaderboard by the end of the second round proceed to the third and fourth days, with the others being eliminated. The player with the best score at the end of the 18th hole on the fourth day wins the tournament. Should two or more players be tied in first place, a sudden death rule comes into place. The tied players then continue to play to determine the outright winner.

US Masters Winners in the 2000’s

As you can see, the winner with the longest Masters odds in the past 15 years is Trevor Immelman in 2008 with a whopping +15 000. He was ranked 29th in the world ahead of the tournament and his only win since came on the then-Web.com Tour in 2013. Angel Cabrera (2009, 69th at the time) and Zach Johnson (2007) were also winners who weren’t present in many Masters picks before their successes and their odds of +12 500 more than prove that.

Another honorable mention is Charl Schwartzel who birdied his final four holes in 2011 and shocked everyone by winning at odds of +10 000. Hideki Matsuyama (2021, +4500), Patrick Reed (2018, +4000) and Danny Willett (2016, +5000) are three more names that weren’t among the most expected winners.

Do you see any surprise packages this time around? If you do and your 2022 Masters predictions turn out to be correct, you most certainly know how to bet and you’re in for a tidy profit.
