Two NFC Central Division rivals are facing a must-win situation when they meet Monday night in a game that should draw great Michigan sports betting interest.

The Green Bay Packers (0-1) will host the Detroit Lions (0-1) at 8:15 p.m. ET, and both are looking for bounceback wins after two lackluster Week 1 performances.

Green Bay, which got lambasted by the New Orleans Saints, 38-3, in Jacksonville last Sunday, has seen the line move as the game nears. The Packers are favored by 12 points at DraftKings Sportsbook and 11.5 on Caesars Sportsbook, FanDuel Sportsbook, BetMGM Sportsbook and Tipico Sportsbook. Most books had the Packers favored by 10.5 points or 11.5 going into the weekend.

Over/Under totals and moneylines have also increased slightly.

Fans with accounts at various MI online casinos responded enthusiastically to having mobile sports betting on regular-season NFL games available for the first time; the state ranked No. 3 in the nation behind New Jersey and Pennsylvania for sports betting transactions during Week 1, according to geofencing security provider GeoComply.

Lions-Packers Game Preview

The Packers recorded just 229 yards of total offense against New Orleans. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers had no touchdowns and two interceptions with a passer rating of 36.8 (fourth lowest in his career) and the 35-point margin was his largest margin of defeat ever as a starter.

The Lions, down 31-10 at halftime to the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, put up a late fight, outscoring their opponents 23-10 in the second half. But it wasn’t enough as the Niners won, 41-33.

New Lions quarterback Jared Goff completed 38 of 57 passes for 338 yards, three TDs and one interception as eight receivers registered double-digit yardage. So what’s the best NFL betting call for this game?

Prediction: Rodgers knows he has to play better and he knows that his team came out uninspired in Week 1. The Packers will return home with Lambeau Field at full capacity and last week’s loss will be a thing of the past. Look for an entirely different performance from Rodgers and the rest.

The Lions have their quarterback. There is no doubt. The rest of the pieces are trying to fit in and build chemistry, not only with the QB but new head coach Dan Campbell. Lions fans should trust the process, but not Monday night. Detroit will improve but the Packers want to get that bad taste out of their mouths. Packers, 42-21.
