As Michigan’s online casino and mobile sports betting launch remains on hold, the Michigan Gaming Control Board continues to grant provisional licenses for operators and platform providers.

The MGCB recently licensed Amelco UK Limited, Don Best Sports Corporation and Sportsradar Solutions LLC.

Both Don Best and Amelco received sports betting licenses, while Sportsradar earned licenses for sports betting and internet gaming.

Michigan’s online launch is still expected to go live sometime this month. The MGCB anticipates more news regarding the launch will be available in the coming weeks.

“In mid-January, the Michigan Gaming Control Board expects to announce the first group of operators eligible to accept wagers,” Mary Kay Bean, MGCB communications specialist, said. “We expect they will start accepting wagers later in the month. By law, that first group must include one tribal operator and one commercial operator.

“The timing and way the MGCB authorizes launch depend on how quickly the applicants meet regulatory requirements and submit all required information. We should know soon whether we can authorize the launch of online gaming at the same time as sports wagering, or whether there may be a delay for online gaming.”
