Playtech is coming to Michigan.

The gambling software company announced it has secured new licensing deals for four states, including Pennsylvania, Indiana, New Jersey and Michigan. The deals are the result of Playtech signing strategic agreements with subsidiaries of Greenwood Racing, which owns and operates the Parx Casino in Bensalem, Pennsylvania.

Playtech’s deal will begin with the launch of its online casino in Michigan, which will use Playtech’s IMS Platform and Player Account Management.

"This strategic partnership with the Greenwood companies represents a major milestone for Playtech,” Moe Weizer, Playtech chief executive officer, said in a news release, “and I'm excited to work with them to help achieve their growth plans in the coming years. The U.S. is a highly strategic market and this multi-state, multi-product agreement highlights the demand for the full breadth of our product offering. This is the next step for Playtech in the U.S. and we are delighted to work with the Greenwood companies to capture this exciting long-term opportunity."

Greenwood currently uses GAN for its iGaming platform, including retail sports betting in Michigan. But with the new deal, it will move over to Playtech’s product. Greenwood also operates the largest casino in Pennsylvania, in addition to online casinos and sports betting in the state, and online casino and sports betting in New Jersey.

With the agreement, Greenwood Racing will debut a new iGaming product in Michigan. Playtech has already been granted a platform license in the state, in addition to Indiana, where Parx has announced its plans to launch.

Second US Launch for Playtech

Playtech previously entered the U.S. market through its partnership with Bet365, offering online casino games in New Jersey with titles such as Age of the Gods and Frankie Dettori’s Magic Seven.

The US launch came after Playtech and Bet365 reached gaming agreements around the world. Bet365 was the first online gambling operator to offer a new Playtech mobile casino app, and Playtech’s popular Kingdoms Rise series gained worldwide popularity.

“This is a significant moment for Playtech and our development in the U.S.,” Playtech Chief Operating Officer Shimon Akad said in a news release at the time. “Launching Playtech’s software in the U.S. is a landmark, and we are very pleased to be taking this step with one of our most trusted partners in Bet365.”
